From the team at Ausclin
AI Dietitians. Less admin, more dietetics.
Australian clinical dietetics software for Accredited Practising Dietitians. Screening, assessment, PES statements, meal plans, handouts and chart notes, drafted for you to review and sign.
Built on the FSANZ Australian Food Composition Database, IDDSI, the Australian Guide to Healthy Eating and the NHMRC Nutrient Reference Values. 14-day free trial.
Why a dietetics practice built software
Ausclin’s two Accredited Practising Dietitians have more than 30 years of clinical work between them, in hospital, community and private practice. A large share of every clinical day goes to work that is necessary but not clinical: re-keying referrals, rewriting the same handout, formatting a meal plan, drafting the letter. That time should go to patients.
AI Dietitians is owned and operated by AUSCLIN PTY LTD, the same company as this practice. Felicity Bull, Accredited Practising Dietitian, is its clinical lead. She reviews the clinical material before it ships and signs off how the product describes its handling of patient data. Tahnia Middleton, Accredited Practising Dietitian and Credentialed Eating Disorder Clinician, also works on AI Dietitians. It is built for how dietetics is practised in Australia: Australian food composition data, texture and fluid frameworks, reference values and spelling, rather than an overseas app lightly adapted.
How it works: referral to sent, in three steps
One workflow for the whole Nutrition Care Process, instead of a scribe for notes, a spreadsheet for calculations and a folder of handouts.
Bring the patient in
Photograph the referral or upload the PDF. It is read into the intake with a confidence flag on each field for you to check, and the patient record is created if they are new.
Work the process
Screen, assess, diagnose and plan with the calculators and drafting to hand. Results save to the patient as you go.
Send it out
A chart note, a GP letter, a branded handout and a meal plan, generated from the work you just did and waiting for your review.
What’s inside
Four areas of the clinical day: running the caseload, the tools and references you reach for, professional development, and the drafting that takes the typing off your plate. Items marked Pro use AI.
Calculators and screening All plans
Energy, protein, fluid, micronutrient, enteral, renal and more, plus MST, SGA, NRS-2002, STAMP and GLIM screens and adult, paediatric and eating-disorder refeeding risk.
Australian references All plans
The FSANZ Australian Food Composition Database, IDDSI, nutrient reference values, an enteral and ONS catalogue and a clinical protocols library.
Caseload and records All plans
Patient records, goals and intake, a priority caseload view, food-diary reminders and an audit log. Syncs with Cliniko, Halaxy and Splose.
NDIS and CPD All plans
NDIS nutrition and enteral plans and a funding wizard, plus a CPD hub for logging activity, reflections and supervision.
Notes and letters Pro
Dictation to a structured progress note, ADIME and SOAP chart notes, and GP, NDIS and discharge letters drafted from your consult.
Meal plans Pro
Set the energy, protein and micronutrient targets; a plan is composed that respects allergies, culture and IDDSI texture levels, then exported to PDF.
Patient handouts Pro
Education handouts pitched to reading level, translated into 10 languages with audio, and checked against the patient’s medications.
Clinical chat Pro
Ask questions grounded in the patient record and your own saved protocols and reference notes.
Drafted by AI. Decided by you.
Every AI output is a draft. You read it, change it and sign it. Nothing goes to a patient or another provider until you say so.
Using AI responsibly with patient information
The dietitian is accountable for the clinical work, so the dietitian stays in charge of it. The data questions deserve a straight answer, including the parts that are less reassuring.
What the AI does, and does not do
- It drafts notes, letters, plans and handouts from what you enter.
- It does not make the clinical decision.
- It does not send anything on its own.
- Content sent to an AI provider is used to perform the task, not to train their models.
Where the data goes
- The application and database run in Sydney on every plan.
- Essentials has no AI features, so nothing is sent to an overseas provider.
- Pro AI features are processed in the United States. Direct identifiers are removed from free text first, but the redacted content still leaves Australia, and dictation audio is sent as recorded.
- Records are isolated per organisation, audit-logged and encrypted in transit.
Three plans. The difference is AI.
Every plan includes every calculator, screening tool and reference. Essentials and Pro start with a 14-day free trial and run month to month.
Essentials
Clinical tools, no AI. For public health, and anyone whose governance says no.
- Calculators, screens and references

Pro

Enterprise

Free tools
Free for any Australian dietitian
Five questions that come up mid-consult, each answered on one page of the public website.
Every other tool on this page is part of a paid plan.
Made for students, too
Student dietitians get a fast, transparent way to see the maths behind the numbers. It is the same equations, screening tools and reference values they are learning, applied instantly, with the sources shown. A study aid and a placement companion in one.
For students, we recommend the Essentials plan. It is a paid plan that gives you every clinical calculator, screening tool and reference, including IDDSI and the Australian Food Composition Database, without the AI features. It starts with a 14-day free trial. See the Essentials plan โ
Ausclin’s clinical supervision is open to dietetic students as well.
Training for dietitians and teams
Using AI well is a clinical skill, not a software setting. Training is led by a practising Accredited Practising Dietitian, and shaped around the work your team actually does.
AI in Dietetics workshop
A hands-on session on using AI safely and well in dietetic practice: what to hand to AI, what to keep, how to check a draft, and how to talk to patients about it. Co-led by a practising clinician and AI practitioners, for teams, university cohorts and professional groups.
Team training on AI Dietitians
Rolling it out across a practice, department or health service? Felicity Bull, the product’s clinical lead, runs a guided session that takes your team from first login to working their own caseload, including the data questions your governance team will ask.
Clinical supervision and mentoring
One-to-one reflective supervision for dietitians and dietetic students, including support for bringing new tools and technology into your practice. About supervision โ
Looking for nutrition advice for yourself?
AI Dietitians is software for qualified dietitians, not a service for the public, and it is not a substitute for seeing one. If you want advice for your own health, our Accredited Practising Dietitians see people in Newcastle, Lake Macquarie and by telehealth across Australia. Our free tools are a good place to start.

Common questions
What is AI Dietitians?
AI Dietitians is Australian clinical dietetics software for Accredited Practising Dietitians. It covers the Nutrition Care Process from the incoming referral to a chart-ready note: screening, calculators, assessment, PES statements, meal plans, patient handouts and letters.
Is AI Dietitians part of Ausclin?
Yes. AI Dietitians is owned and operated by AUSCLIN PTY LTD, the company behind this practice. Felicity Bull, Accredited Practising Dietitian, is its clinical lead, and Tahnia Middleton, Accredited Practising Dietitian, also works on the product.
Does the AI replace the dietitian’s judgement?
No. The AI drafts notes, letters, plans and handouts from what the dietitian enters. The dietitian reviews, edits and signs everything, and nothing is sent without their say-so.
Does patient data leave Australia?
The application and its database run in Sydney on every plan. The Essentials plan has no AI features, so nothing is sent overseas. On Pro, AI features are processed by providers in the United States: direct identifiers are removed from free text first, but the redacted content still leaves Australia, and dictation audio is sent as recorded.
Does it work with my practice software?
It syncs appointments and patient context from Cliniko, Halaxy and Splose, where you choose to connect one.
Do you offer training in using AI in dietetics?
Yes. We run AI in Dietetics workshops for teams, university cohorts and professional groups, and Felicity runs guided sessions for services rolling out AI Dietitians. Contact her through our contact page to talk about what your team needs.
Can I use AI Dietitians to get a diet plan for myself?
No. It is built for qualified dietitians to use with their patients, not as a replacement for one. For advice about your own health, book with one of our Accredited Practising Dietitians in person or by telehealth.
Try it on your own caseload
Take a referral you would normally work through by hand, let AI Dietitians draft the first pass, and compare it with what you would have written.
