General guidance on when input from an Accredited Practising Dietitian helps.
Clinical-grade. Private by design.
Built by Accredited Practising Dietitians, and every calculation runs privately in your browser.
What dietitians actually do
An APD translates the evidence into practical, personalised eating changes that fit your life, managing conditions like diabetes and IBS, navigating allergies and coeliac disease, supporting pregnancy and children’s growth, and helping with a healthier relationship with food. It’s care, not judgement.
How to get started
You can book privately with no referral. If you have a chronic condition, ask your GP about a chronic condition management plan, which may make some visits Medicare-subsidised. GPs: we welcome referrals and keep you in the loop. Get in touch.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a referral?
No, anyone can see an Accredited Practising Dietitian privately. A GP referral is only needed to access the Medicare chronic-condition pathway (which may subsidise some visits).
I only ticked one thing, is it still worth going?
Yes. There’s no ‘too small’ a reason. Even one concern, or simply wanting to eat better for your life stage, is a good reason to check in with a dietitian.
I’m a GP, can I use this with patients?
Absolutely. It’s a handy prompt for when dietitian input adds value, and it links through to the eligibility pathway. We welcome referrals and provide clear communication back.
Is my information private?
Yes, the checklist runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you tick is sent or stored; only anonymous aggregate usage is recorded.
